It is not always easy to catch a rainbow. These are two that I was lucky enough to see and to also be able to capture. The one at the lake was a double rainbow which makes it extra special.

Rerun: Lake Spangenberg Jefferson Township Pa.

13 Years ago we made a momentous decision. We decided to invest in a vacation home. Our daughter Kasey and son-in-law John joined us on the adventure and we bought the lake house on Lake Spangenberg. Lake Spangenberg is located in the town of Mount Cobb which if you have ever taken I84 to its end, is the last exit before I81.

Lakes in this area of the North Poconos are man-made. This lake is small and allows only electric motors  to be used making it a quiet area. We have wonderful neighbors and have come to really love the area. Welcome to our little piece of paradise.

Sleeper McGann House in Gloucester

Beauport, the Sleeper McGann Hose is a member of Historic New England. The house is beautiful and so are the gardens. Here are some of the flowers we enjoyed.

Turtles at the Children's Museum West Hartford

Yesterday we spent the day with grandson Jack at the Children's Museum in West Hartford. We arrived at the turtle display as they were being fed and it was amazing to see some of them beg like a dog would for a treat. Here are some of my favorites.

This is a really nice museum with lots of things for kids to do, it has grown immensely since I was here with the old grandchildren 20 years ago.

Picturesque Hotel Roanoke

Roanoke has a very charming historic hotel located close to their downtown. It is also a convention center so many visitors stay here when they are in Roanoke. We didn't stay here but we did tour and we found it gorgeous to say the least. I will be writing a full article about this lovely hotel but for now I welcome you to enjoy some of the photos I took.
