It is finally feeling like spring here in Connecticut and with it some flowers are starting to bloom here in my Portland yard. 

Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour Scranton, Pa.

Located in McDade Park in Scranton, the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour is an unforgettable experience. You are carried 300 feet below the ground into the coal mine. It is cold and dark and frankly a little scary and hard to imagine having to go there to work.

Welcome to Steamtown Scranton, Pa

Steamtown National Historic Site is one of the most popular attractions in Scranton, Pa. It is operated by the Nationa Park Service so you will get the full ranger experience. From the ride on the historic steam train to walkuing around the round house, this is a place that every member of the family will enjoy.

A Pictorial visit to Battleship Cove

Yesterday we visited Battlefield Cove in Fall River, Ma. with Kasey, John and the boys and I can't understand why I have never heard of this before. It is amazing and if you haven't gone yet, I highly recommend that you do. It is a very hands-on experience. 

Winter on Long Island Sound

For quite a few years we spent a week at Water's Edge Resort in Westbrook, Conn. every winter. It was a little getaway. We still went to work but went home at night to the resort and got to enjoy the Connecticut shore in the winter. Here are a few photos I took while visiting there in 2008.
